Architecting an On-Demand CNC Technician Marketplace

The manufacturing sector relies heavily on precise CNC machinery, but sourcing verified, reliable technicians for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance has traditionally been a fragmented nightmare. Employers struggled with disjointed communication, lack of real-time tracking, and opaque payment structures.

On the flip side, highly skilled technicians faced inconsistent work schedules, delayed payouts, and endless administrative overhead. The industry desperately needed a centralized, transparent ecosystem to instantly bridge the gap between machine operators and certified technicians, while simultaneously guaranteeing financial security for both parties.

We engineered a robust trilateral platform from the ground up: a fluid React Native mobile app for both employers and technicians, a lightning-fast Next.js administrative dashboard, and a highly scalable NestJS backend powered by a strictly relational PostgreSQL database.

At the core of the platform is an intelligent booking engine that handles complex scheduling, dynamic commission calculations, and rigorous state management. From the moment a technician accepts a job, the system tracks their status through every phase by utilizing WebSockets for real-time geolocation logging as they travel to the site, securely verifying their check-in, and monitoring the job through to completion.

To ensure absolute trust, we integrated a comprehensive KYC and document verification pipeline. Because financial security was paramount, we architected an automated escrow payment system integrated with Razorpay. This is paired with an intricate internal digital wallet infrastructure that automatically calculates service commissions, manages instant payouts, and handles dispute resolutions natively within the platform.

The resulting platform created a radically transparent and frictionless marketplace for industrial servicing. Employers can now instantly book verified technicians, track their exact arrival coordinates in real-time, and securely release escrow payments only upon successful verification of the completed job.

For technicians, the ecosystem provides unprecedented autonomy. They can effortlessly manage their weekly availability, set their custom hourly rates, and receive reliable, immediate payouts directly to their bank accounts via the integrated wallet system.
